The Flat- Before & After [Kitchen, Living & Dining Room]

A year ago this January, Taylor and I had the opportunity to purchase a gorgeous historic building in downtown Millersburg, Ohio. Above the storefront was a large "flat" (apartment) that was screaming for love and attention. This large 1,200 some square ft apartment was severely outdated but it was something we decided to tackle a year ago. We started renovations in early January 2016 and finished out at the end of February 2016 with our huge project. With many obstacles including a traumatic fire, we overcame what was thrown our way. 

All new floors were installed, fresh paint to cover dark panelling and endless hours were poured into this project which made it worth everything.

The kitchen was a lot of cosmetic changes including paint on the very sturdy cupboards, new hardware and appliances were also added. The most time-consuming part of the kitchen were painting the many cupboards- in and out.

We also had no idea what to do with the very outdated ceiling tiles and time washed ceiling tracks. We knew we would have loved to add nice ceiling tiles but that came with a huge price that we couldn't afford at the time. The alternative? We purchased huge dry erase boards from the hardware store and cut them down. A very time-consuming project but very easy on our wallets with a total of under $800 for the entire apartment.. and that we couldn't pass up.
