Bathroom Vanity- Painted
I decided to take on a little DIY project this week. I wanted to do something inspirational on my day off and the bathroom vanity was just the treat- (see the before here)! The new farmhouse project has been put on slight hold until funds are flowing more so I decided to do a project that didn't cost me anything (since I already had all the supplies).
I used Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in the color Aviary and dove right into the project. The paint comes in powder form and needs to be mixed with water. What I love about this paint is if you wanted a more transparent paint color, you could mix it with more water to thin it out. I was covering the cream, gold and red colors- so I opted for a thicker mixture. I mix it the powder until I have the consistency I want.
I love using this product because when the paint dries, it's a very flat and matte finish. I love the way it pulled out the vanity details.
The color is a pretty hue of blue and charcoal (I call it a "gravel-blue")- changing on the color temperature of the room. I think it will be gorgeous with the finished antique brass knobs and a sleek marble top. I plan to dust the detail edges with a darker stain and pop them with a dash of gold. Stay tuned for an update!
Hugs, Alyssa
